This Aqua Dresser Makeover is a dream!!! I love the color!!! I know it’s been awhile since I have posted a Monday Treasure. For my new readers you may not know that I love finding treasures in trash piles. Our area has large trash days where people put amazing things on the side of the road. I love to drive around and find little treasures. It brings my heart so much happiness to recreate things. My daughter prefers the brown color. I promise not to make any remarks about her furniture choices when she is older. But this darling little dresser was spray painted, knobs and all, a glossy brown.
And I nothing against brown personally. But it looked so sad!!! That’s why I was so happy to give this dresser a makeover! I have been wanting to try BB Frosch forever! I finally got my hands on it a couple of months ago. But life was too busy with epic family costumes to even bother with this little dresser. And isn’t the detail on the piece just dreamy?
And doesn’t she look gorgeous now???
I doubt her owners would even recognize her! Seriously I love seeing the side by side comparison! That’s why I always kick myself when I forget to get a before shot, either with a piece of furniture or a hair client. Sometimes it doesn’t take much to give yourself a new look.
And I LOVED using BB Frosch!!! I’ve made my own chalk paint and used Annie Sloan’s brand. But I think this is my favorite! Just look what I could do with a $10 can of paint and some powder from BB Frosch! I love that I can create chalk paint with ANY color! And I love the durability the paint has! And with two quick coats I was able to get coverage with that awful brown. It goes on like a dream!
And I loved the bones of the knobs! Luckily I read online that you can soak painted knobs in your crock pot filled with water to remove the paint. It was so satisfying to scrap off the spray paint! It peeled right off with a fork. The knobs weren’t in perfect condition and I was on the fence on whether I should spray paint them with a bronze color. That way they would look consistent. But I tried them out and loved the character they added. They look great with the aqua color.
I did decided to replace the top one. I headed to Hobby Lobby while my MIL was in town and I was happy to find this little gem! She doesn’t quite match, but I think I will keep her!
I placed this dresser in my closet to help me organize my stocking and scarves and such. I love having more order in my room. And that my closet looks more charming these days. I am just so happy with how this dresser turned out!
And I knew that I could make use of that paint. I have been wanting to redo my door! I feel so happy every time I open my door! Life is more fun with a little color in it! I am loving living in Arizona but sometimes there is just too much beige! I think I will be painting my fence in my back yard next spring. It just needs a little something.
Look at how amazing my front porch looks now!!! You may remember that cute Joy Sign from last Christmas. That sign also came from a trash pile. I found that little tree at 360 Thrift in Mesa. Such a deal! You can check out my Joy Sign Tutorial or other Monday Treasures. And have you painted your door? If so, what color? I’ve always wanted a yellow door, but it wouldn’t look good with beige!
