How is it already time for our September Meal Plan? Totally wish I was sending my kids off to Hogwarts today. Part of me wanted to plan a Harry Potter meal tonight for dinner, but my second son seriously thinks we are taking his brother to Hogwarts this year and I don’t want to have that conversation right now. Let him believe a little longer. Maybe he will forget it’s September 1st. Things are picking up with the school year. With dance and choir on our calendar I have chosen some easy crock pot recipes or make ahead meals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So if your family is like mine, getting home right at dinner time, check out what we are making those nights to get our kids fed quickly. This year in choir we now have three different choir practices. So let’s get on with the meal plan ideas.

And just because I love sharing my favorite recipes with you I want to share this insanely amazing Salted Caramel Sauce! I made it for a party a couple of week ago and it was SO good. If you need a great treat idea, (we had ours on ice cream) for your family night look no further. And speaking of family night, my 5 year old keeps asking when we are acting out our next Bible story. My kids are loving new tradition of acting out Bible stories. It has been such a fun experience.
Family Night Ideas:
September 5th Family Game Night
September 12th- Scripture Story: Noah. Follow along on Instagram to see our scripture play. If you want to join us be sure to use the hashtag #fhescripturestudy . Or check out my Facebook page where I will be doing a Facebook Live Video of this family night. If you are new to my blog I have started a series where our family can learn the stories of the Old Testament by acting them out. Right now our family is currently reading the New Testament during our scripture study. But I told my husband when we finish we might not want to read the Old Testament together. We are going with the ‘milk before meat’ idea. But I still wanted them to know the stories.
September 19th Talk Like A Pirate Day Treasure Hunt (Don’t forget to get free donuts that day!)
September 26th Don’t Be an Angry Bird Lesson on Anger Management
I know having family dinner and a weekly family night will bless our family and help us grow closer together. Especially when we can invite our children to act and join us as we prepare dinner or plan our family night. I love the family closeness I see around the family dinner table. The kids giggling at their inside jokes and the social skills that they are working on. Family Dinner is a sacred time together. I would invite you to put it to the test. Try to connect with your children and help them develop and foster friendships with their siblings.
