September 1st means wizarding families said goodbye to their children on Platform 9 3/4. I’m sure Molly Weasley would have sent Ginny off with these magical pencil boxes if she knew anything about the interweb. Perhaps Arthur might stumble upon it someday. If you are preparing to send your muggles off school these DIY Harry Potter pencil boxes might be just the thing. My boys love these plastic pencil boxes. They make it easy to organize their pens and pencils. And using a little creativity and vinyl can make an ordinary pencil box just magical.
Fun supplies like these sometimes make it easier for kids to make friends. Sometimes when I meet someone new and they are wearing a Hogwarts shirt it’s easier to to strike up a conversation. And having supplies which are one of a kind helps my kids to keep track of their stuff. This easy craft makes for a quick project- which leaves plenty of time for brushing up on your Quidditch skills.
My first thought with these Harry Potter Back to Hogwarts school supplies would be to show some school spirit. I’m from the Hufflepuff house and couldn’t be prouder! I love being kind and loyal. Wouldn’t it be fun to have different styles depending on your kids’ houses? I made this for my tenderhearted Yoda, but I think I might have to keep it in my purse. It’s just so handy, and I love to have pencils/pens on hand for doing homework when we have appointments after school.
My oldest is totally in Ravenclaw! I figured if this Ravenclaw quote is good enough for Rowena, it’s good enough for my boy. Because of his amazing and brilliant mind he tends to lose pencils and erasers easily. There are just so many things to read or think about. I figured this would be a perfect fit for him.
My daughter just started kindergarten and is honestly thrilled! Apparently she doesn’t talk in class even though she’s surrounded by talkers. Because she is so social and a great talker (I don’t know where she gets it) I asked her if she was always on her best behavior. She told me “Obviously I want to earn the limited edition sticker they give out if you don’t get any warnings.” I thought this colorful pencil box would inspire the Hermonie in her. She is my brave Gryffindor and naturally love Hermonie.
I like the idea of creating pencil boxes that go with the house colors but sometimes it’s just fun to switch it up. You could really choose any fun Harry Potter quote. I love how this gold looks with the black. I thought this image of Harry would make for a fun pencil box idea. A test said my Draco was in Hufflepuff, but honestly I think he would do well in Slytherin. And not that all Slytherins are bad. I happen to be married to one. We will just have to retest him next spring when he turns 11. Either way this box is a keeper!

Super easy! The hardest part is choosing a favorite quote from the books. Our family is a big fan of Harry Potter. I’m currently reading the second book with my 7 year old. And last year we may have dressed up for Halloween in a Harry Potter theme. You can find our costumes here. Pin this image and share the Harry Potter love. I would love to hear what your pencil box would say??? Share in the comments below.
