The day is finally here! Star Wars The Force Awakens! And what better way to celebrate than with these free Star Wars Treat Toppers. I guess seeing the movie would be a good move too. I love how this Christmas season has gone hand in hand with Star Wars. When it comes to baking during the Christmas season our family has always made Star Wars cookies to celebrate. I am pretty sure they are Santa’s favorite! My dear friend and client Cathy got me these Star Wars Cookie Cutters back when Yoda was a baby. My kids LOVE them!!! (Newer and cheaper ones here) And sugar cookies are a must in our house. We love using Grandma Jean’s recipe. So among our stars and candy canes you can find Yoda and Darth Vader cookies. (A great gift idea for the Star Wars baker in your life)
I wanted to share this fun free printable with you to say thank you for reading my blog. I really appreciate it! I have really enjoyed writing and preserving our adventure here in Arizona. I thought this Star Wars printable would be perfect for neighbors, friends, and co-workers. And there are 3 fun sayings to choose from. The Darth Vader is really perfect for Christmas. The other two could really be used for any time of the year. It’s always a good time to make and share Star Wars cookies.
Just print your Free Star Wars treat toppers. I like to use cardstock. Trim them down and fold. Then staple them to a sandwich bag filled with cookies or treats. And if you are in Orange County and don’t want to make these yourself check out Beautylicious Bakes FB page. Her Star Wars cookie skills are amazing. Also she makes cakes and pretty much any other kind of yummy treat. And don’t judge me when you see her Vader cookies…

If you remember from Georgiana’s 2nd Birthday I tried decorating sugar cookies for the first time. (Anyone else love watching those cookie decorating videos?) I was excited to give it a go again. I love using a Bee in our Bonnet’s icing recipe. And be sure to read through all their great tips. They are insanely talented. The best part of decorating our Star Wars cookies was the look on my kids faces! They were so excited. You will have to give it a try. But decorate them while watching a movie, it took me all afternoon. In years past when I didn’t want to even try to decorate them with frosting I would sprinkle sugar crystals on the cookies. They looked great as the sprinkles fell in the design lines of the cookie. Sprinkle them before you bake them. Or you could make part of the dough green and just stamp some Yoda’s out. I have even seen people stamp fondant. I know, the possibilities are endless. How ever you decide to make them one thing is for sure, your kids will think they are awesome.
I was so happy with how they turned out. The storm troopers turned out the best I think. And when are we going to have another Star Wars birthday party? These cookies would be perfect! If you are looking for more Star Wars food ideas be sure to read this post using Star Wars Pancake Molds. Or click on the Star Wars tag to see more Star Wars posts. I am waiting to see the new movie tomorrow with my boys. They are so excited! I think we are going to grab their Jedi Robes and dress up for the occasion. If you are looking for a fun way to dress up and show your Star Wars love check out Liz’s blog Liz on Call and see the cute shirt she made for her son. It’s so much fun to celebrate in small ways. It’s not everyday a new Star Wars comes out.
Happy Baking! And May the Force be with you…
