Our Family Halloween Theme for 2019 is…. Dragon Prince! My family loves this Netflix show. And we can’t wait for Season 3 which comes out in November. My daughter was so excited to be Rayla, the Moon Shadow Elf Assassin.
Can you tell she has 3 brothers? And this isn’t her first time being an elf for Halloween. I have to admit that she does a really good Human Rayla impression.
One of the things I love about this show is that the characters have been misinformed about each other. A surprising band of heroes set out to save the Dragon Prince. Great lessons lay in this funny family show. *
Great talking points include do we sometimes judge others based off what we hear about them? Or can we become friends with our enemies or people that are different than us? There are some moral dilemma that encourage kids to think. This show teaches some great lessons.
Plus humor. And a good amount of jelly tarts.
Dragon Prince has quite a group of characters and my family was so excited to choose this for our Family Theme. Honestly I love that my daughter is so excited to be a moon shadow elf. During ballet class everyone was sharing their costumes and she was so proud to share her costume, even if no body knew what she was being. I think confidence comes when you can be someone who is outside of the norm.

Maybe I’m glad I let me hubby get that 3D printer now that we have these adorable horns. The Mini Delta is compact and made great looking horns. You can find the template here. I attached them to a fabric headband close to her hair color. Then I wrapped her hair around to help them blend in. Her brother’s were so impressed.
I just love this little spunky girl!!! And I love that she chose someone kind and heroic to be for Halloween. You can find our past Halloween Costumes here. And feel free to guess what her brothers are going to be?
