One thing I love do when meal planning is remembering special holidays to make dinner even more fun. Special Days in July for our family is Independence Day, Pioneer Day, and Harry Potter’s Birthday (ideas to celebrate here). It’s a great way to make ordinary dinners into something extra ordinary. We are also having a special dinner the night before school starts so we can get our kids excited about the school year.
Our family also dedicates family night to spending time together and learning about our family values. I like planning out our lessons to be more intentional. But if I feel inspired to change my plan I never feel bad about it.
July 2nd– Learn the history behind the song The Star Spangled Banner.
July 9th– Old Testament Stories- The Passover– we love acting out the scriptures. It really help my children remember the Old Testament stories.
July 16th– Family Game Night- I’m hoping to play Apples to Apples with our extended family.
July 23rd-Back to School Dinner. I love Kristen Duke’s dinner ideas with a theme for the new school year. I’m still thinking about a theme for our kids.
July 30th– For The Strengthen of Youth: Friends- perfect time to remind my kids what good friends are and how to be one.
I would love to hear what you are making this month! Share below in the comments. And check out other dinner menus for more ideas.
